Well, it arrived and I must say, I'm pretty impressed. Fit, finish and construction seem great. It's not the sharpest knife I've ever had out of the box, but it's pretty good. I had to reverse the clip to allow for my normal tip-up carry. That being said, I would prefer a different clip, something like what's on the Spyderco Delica. Anyone know of any aftermarket clip for this Rat-2? I'm not sure if I'll change my mind later, but initial impressions have this knife feeling better in my hand than my Delica-4. I reserve the right to change my mind in a few days/weeks after using it for a bit.

I love the fact that this can be a beater knife and I don't need to worry about a high replacement cost, if I break or misplace it. So far, it feels good clipped to my RF pocket. I do see what people are talking about when they say the scales could use a bit more texturing, but I think it's going to be fine.

Use it well, my friend. The Rat 2 won't let you down. It's one of my two most carried knives. I work in an office setting and I go back and forth between the Rat 2 and the Cold Steel Mini Recon 1 for office carry.
 
This Rat-2 is quickly becoming my favorite knife and folder-EDC. I'm curious as to the other available scale colors for the Rat-2, with the satin blade. I understand the offering in the Rat-1 may be more complete, as with the painted-black blade version. For the Rat-2, I'm aware of the following colored, with a satin finished blade.

- Black.
- OD Green.
- Pink.
- Coyote Brown.
- Orange (KW Exclusive).

Am I missing any?
 
I recently got one, after I lost my Pirahna auto. Looked for it everywhere and then my wife was folding laundry and asked what color my lost knife was!
I kind of rotate these 2 for edc, but usually carry the Pirahna. The Rat 2 is my only thumb stud folder I can open well like you are supposed to.

Now I want a Rat 1, good thing they are cheap

Try taking it apart and reassembling it. The first time I did mine, I was a little shocked at how easily everything just went back together and the blade was dead center without any fine tuning. For the kind of money Ontario charges for it, this is an impressive level of engineering finesse in my opinion.
 
It is a great value for sure. I read somewhere that the very newest ones has a different logo on the pocketclip or something.

Its HERE!! SUPER F&F!!! Really like the coyote brown handle!!! A little smaller than expected but that's KOOL!!! NICE!!!! John :D
 
I'd really like to see the Rat 2 up next to the ESSE Zancudo for comparison. Specifically the channel/lock sides next to each other.

I have a Zancudo, and while it is a pretty awesome little knife I noticed that the frame lock on mine is all the way over. Like 300% lockup, LOL.

I really don't like that as its a pain to disengage and when open the knife seems really thin under my index finger. I don't know about the rest of you, but having a bit more knife in that area helps with control.
 
My OD green Rat 2 arrives tomorrow. Very interested to see what the fuss is about. I've been pretty much a Spyderco guy.
