I know all of you guys know this, but it's a magnificently well built knife, overflowing with "fantastic-ness"... F and F is very very good, lockup is solid, no play in any direction, etc etc etc... So here's my dilemna... I ordered it early in the summer before they discontinued the Rat Trap, and now I wonder if I should EDC this work of art, or stash it a way in minty fresh condition as a rare, discontinued knife...? Will there be a Rat Trap II down the road? (I know that question's been asked before, but I've never seen a satisfactory answer, and if the master knife artists in the Swamp were to give up on folders after such a fine first attempt, it would be a shame of the highest order) Anyway, I humbly request the opinions of my brothers and sisters of the blade, and anyone from the swamp who might like to chime in as well...
Thanks in advance...

Tough call I would pu tit away for major use, use it on small really light stuff. Wait to see if you can find another and use one, look at the other.

i normally say use rats.. but this is a hard call. soon enought a folder will come from that other company. i think the rat trap will only go up in value. So if you want to make money and sell it later then dont use it.

Use it! a Rat will die in a safe. Don't forget about Busse folder, that will be something you can marvel at.

I am suffering from this also...mine is one of the limited numbered editions and I am trying to decide on if I want to trade it for a user.......I am lost!

Isn't the Busse folder just a myth? :D

Noooooo

If it has a serial number (not likely!) stash it, otherwise use and enjoy it.

I've seen unrevealing pics of bigfoot too sir... :)
I'll believe it when I see Cliff Stamp destruction test one... Though, wouldn't the simple act of destruction testing an indestructible folder, lead to a paradox, and the end of all existence? Ok, so I'll take that back, I'll believe it, when my box comes from Ohio, and I open it up, and out pops "The" folder... ddddddrrrrrrrrrooooooooooooooooollllllllll.... :D

I used my #25 Rat Trap as a daily carry happily and with no regrets. When I am back where I can use it again, I will. If you sell yours to buy the other companys version, would you toss that in a vault too? If you were going to buy a user in the first place, what is the gain financially if you have to pay for another knife you may not be as happy with?
