NOTE: ALSO POSTED ON THE SPYDERFACTORY FORUM (SFTD)
Some of you may recall my posting here about a month ago regarding a perceived problem with the lockup of my s/s Police model. It seemed a tad loose, such that there was noticeable vertical movement of the blade up and down when locked open. It was enough to bother me, although Im not sure the casual user would have paid it too much attention. You see, I spend more time fondling, manipulating and generally worshipping my Spyderco knives than actually cutting with them.
Anyway, after purchasing this knife (without noticing the slight bladeplay) I was a little concerned. I spoke to my local shop and the knifeguy happily took this knife back, placing an order for a new sample. Well, that knife arrived yesterday.
Wow!It is absolutely beautiful. The ATS-55 blade came super-shaving sharp, locks up like a bank vault, possesses a needle-like point that Im actually a little bit afraid of in short, the knife is perfect. It is of course, tight to open because its brand new but it is perfectly smooth. Im really glad that I decided to take the other specimen back, as I was really taken care of well in this extended transaction.
Heres to you Spyderco, and to your dealer network! Three cheers from this customer.
