Why am I talking about this knife like it is a newborn? :p I was getting ready to prepare the pork for dinner and had to do some cutting, but tonight I decided to reach for my micarta Sebenza instead of the 7" chefs knife. After that I washed it off in the sink, shook it off and dryed it a bit with a papertowel. God this thread is stupid. I am just really happy with this knife. I don't expect a reply to this. :D ;)

glad you like it!

Maybe you need a "Pillow carry Sytem" so it's not too far away when you sleep. :p :p :p

Trust me Dave my micarta Sebbie sits right at my bed side. I was told by my squad leader that where I am going in December that when the alarm goes off we have to respond to the prison asap so we have to sleep with our 9mm's and M-4's. I think I am going to sleep with this knife in my pocket too. LOL

USAFSP I'm really glad that you got the Micarta Inlay. It seems to be a perfect fit for what you intend to use it for and subject it to. ;)

Thanks Scott. It is weird that you said that. I know that a plain Sebenza would have been great too but you payed attention to the fact that I liked inlays in some previous posts. I did buy that CCG earlier this month and I never really intended to use it. It is the first CRK that I intend to "Collect" and like you said earlier I would be sorry if I used it in the desert. So it will remain forever beautiful and unused in my collection. Then came the Ebony handled Sebenza. I don't truely know that it would hold up to the rigors of desert life too. Well, I sold that one for what I had into it and some of the money went into what is now my small Micarta. This knife I don't feel at all guilty about using. It is like CRK made a no nonsense user for those who love inlays. Yeah I am excited. :D

USAFSP,

In the 45 hours since I got my micarta Sebenza it has not been more than arms length away from me.

There is nothing odd about the first post in this thread.

:D :D :D :D Good I am not the only one that has gone nuts over them then.

If CRK decide to make this Sebenza with different colored micarta (gold or burgundy) I’m going to be broke and nuts for an even longer period of time.

Amen. Brown or green micarta would look terrific as well.

Nothing odd since I fell in love w/my micarta small sebenza after I cut my first steak when the cheapie plastic take-out knife broke and I was hungry.

Oh, I have it since May. I love it. Actually, after the micarta, I wonder if I really need another wood inlay since I am so used to using the small micarta with no hesitation or guilt when I need to get it scratched, dirty, etc.

I always figure when I rinse off a sebbie there's not too much chance of contaminating the lube due to the close tolerances involved.
Nothing strange about the first post at all IMHO.

Congrats on the Sebbie brother!! Um, I sleep with my Sebbie clipped to me. Yes, I am serious, I sleep with a knife.

I pretty much take mine to the shower every day for a quick rinse before I get going. At least that way,I know it's clean from the get-go.:) Depending on how the day went, I'll clean it with soap or something else as well. Case in point; after a fire yesterday, the rest of me was pretty ripe and the smell of smoke was right in my pores. I didn't use my knife, but the lanyard had the same smell as the rest of my clothing. It got treated with soap and a bit of sanitizer until the smell was gone.

I for one can attest that they hold up extremely well in the desert for everything from cutting boxes, puncturing tires, cutting steak (or at least they said it was steak... I'm pretty sure it was a mammal though) and is always ready for any social occasion... my micarta Large Sebenza goes everywhere I go - and I go lotsa places.

OK, one more thing, is the S30V hard to sharpen since I have yet to do so as a newbie with my micarta ?

I love the user-friendliness of the micarta and I can use it with no guilt or hesitation -- really freeing = O
