I thought I would show off some pictures of my new 25. I have to say that this thing is out of this world. This is my first Sebenza and I couldn't be happier. This thing is super smooth right out of the box and everything appears to be perfect. My Umnumzaan needed a decent amount of break in before it was what I would consider smooth but my 25 is a different story.

I know the new handle design has drawn some criticism but I think it is pretty much perfect. The "choils" fit my fingers perfect and make the knife feel like an extension of my hand.

The only thing I need to do is put some "teeth" on the edge, but that is just a personal preference thing. This knife is absolutely razor sharp but it is the kind of sharp that comes from a lot of buffing/stropping and I prefer my edges with some "bite".

Anyway, thats enough for now. I need to go play with my new toy. Sorry the pics aren't better quality.

Thats a bummer man. The funny thing about mine is that it has been sitting in my mailbox since Saturday!! I got off the phone with BHQ about 2:30 last Thursday. I thought it would be here on Tuesday at the earliest since today was a holiday so I didn't even check the mail over the weekend. I checked the mail today after work today just to make sure the mail box would be empty when the package came tomorrow or Wednesday and there was my new Sebenza!!

Great score! I love surprise packages. I do have a question. You say yours was smooth right out of the box. I've heard a few people say that theirs is stiff even after some use. When you say smooth, is there any of that hydraulic feeling that some knives have?

My large insingo is like that, but it is the lube. If I clean it up and put some nano oil in there the blade is SUPER smooth and just drops when the lock bar is disengaged. With the Chris Reeve grease it is smooth, but very hydraulic feeling.

Congrats and thanks for sharing. It look so clean.
I can't belive it was born on Feb the 11th and you have it in your hands already.
It's still a baby isn't it. :)
That is pretty impressive IMHO.

It has the hydraulic feel but isn't nearly as tight as my Zaan was. If I disengage the lock it wont drop but it isn't far from that point. It will just take a few days of break in or a relube with a thinner lube to get it there.

Congrats!
I'm very happy with my 25 although it's probably not quite as smooth of an opener as my Umnumzaan's are, it'll break in eventually, and I'll have fun getting it there.

It's crazy how quickly you got that one, BHQ has surprised me with some lightning quick shipping before too- almost takes the fun out of stalking the mailman, almost :D
