So I just bought my first Sebenza today, and I love it! However, I took it apart to put some lube on it, and when I got it back together, it wasn't centered anymore. Any thoughts?

I had that problem when I took it apart the first time. I think my problem was the pivot bushing wasnt perfectly centered in the washer and was kind of resting on one. I took it appart again and played with it a little and relatively easily fixed the problem. I'm still not certain if I remember it entirely correctly though....

Thanks! I'm watching a youtube video right now and I took the lanyard off so I could completely disassemble it, and now I'm gonna try to put it together again. I'll post pics if I get it right (or maybe if I don't).

Pics aren't coming out very well right now, but it worked like a charm! I didn't even use the proper kind of lube (the stuff I have is made for locksmiths, so I figured that it would work for now since locks have tolerances of .005").

Glad to be part of the Sebenza owners' club!

I'm glad you got it all fixed. The sebenza will just keep growing on you if you are anything like me. I dont think the lock oil will be a problem for you, I just use run of the mill mineral oil and it works like a charm.

Congrats on the Sebenza, I know I was, and still am, excited about mine.

Any lube will work, and even using no lube will work since phosphor bronze washers are self-lubricating.

The only advantage that the CRK grease has is longevity and greater lubricity for titanium interfaces.

It helps if the handle slabs are square to each other before you put the blade in. I tap the base of mine (slabs facing up) on the bench.

Yes, that was my problem the first time. I didn't undo the lanyard first, or the bottom screw, so I was just rotating the slabs and trying to line them back up after that. I found that that doesn't work well. Once I unraveled the lanyard and completely took apart the knife, lubed it, then put it back together, it worked like a dream! Re-tying the lanyard, however, took like 10 tries before I got the length right!!! Anyhow, I don't know what I'd do without being able to rely on you awesome BladeForums guys! Thanks for all your help and advice all the time!!

There's a Chris Reeve Knives subforum here that has several sticky threads at the top with information on CRK knives. It's a good resource, worth checking out.
