As of late, I am unable to stare through a loupe. I really like to use one with sharpening, as I'm sure many of you do as well. So I got to thinking (easier said then done for me), and here's what I came up with:

Used to use this when my niece and nephew would come visit when they were younger, we'd look at bugs, rocks, etc. So I booted her back up and tested it on my BK 2 edge, which I'll share the pics. Yes. I know. I'm a dork. We've already determined this. :p. here's the tip at 60x:

And here's the tip at 200x, lol:

Ya, 200 seems a little much. So I stick on the 10x and 60x. Won't bore you with pics along the entire blade (I woulda used my 9 if I wanted to torture you) but I did find one little spot I'll show you:

So looks like I have something to do tonight, go me!

Someone asked about looking at a Clitched knife under the scope, so I did. I have not Cliched any Beckers yet, so this is a schf9. I dialed in on one spot. Here it is 10x:

60x, same spot:

And here is 200x:

Again, 200 seems a little much. One more pic, here is the edge at 200x rust hanging off:

I should do that..... To bad I don't have nor know where to get one of those...

That's clever and awesome to the point that I want to go down to Toys R Us and get one... Mostly to stare at bugs and rocks cuz I'd be scared to see my edges lol. Technology that used to cost thousands back in the day, and was designed for professionals can now be had in the form of children's toys for under a hundred bucks...we are living in the future people!

This thing is kinda cool, you can video, still shoot, basically have full photo edit, things like that. So yes if you are like me and have absolutely 0 life, you might dig this! :D

Thats pretty cool! Ive used one of those jewelers 30x eye loupes to check out some knicks on my edges. Nothing like the detail that microscope can show though.

that japanese knife sharpenering deer hunter guy uses a microcope too. he's ... picky and OCD. in a good way.
