at work. we have odds and ends bins were old parts wind up and eventually thrown out. Many precisely made machined stainless things that once were used on obsolete production equipment. Also we have racks and racks of stock to build or mod stuff around the plant. I borrow a little here and there for my "government jobs".:D

You can get stuff like it from mcmaster carr or msc, hell i think maybe grainger too.

Got the stones from congresstools.com they sell polishing stones to tool and die makers and stuff.
I may wind up splurging some day and getting dmt diamond stones and finish with spyderco ceramics then strop with green chromium oxide. That would probably be the slickest easiest and mess free setup but I don't know what i'll do with these 7 stones, but they were pretty cheap so no biggy. I kind of jumped the gun trying to get this thing done and now after reading about those dmt's and ceramics i want those!
