Another one of my EDC's. I'm keeping this one to use around the shop. 1084 with figured maple scales:

What a beautiful knife, doesn't really get much better than this. How did you darken that maple?

It's easy: once sanded, apply aqua fortis & heat with a heat gun. Rub down with 0000 steel wool. Then apply Fiebing tan leather dye. Sand again with 0000 steel wool. Seal with several coats of Danish oil. Then add three coats of Johnson's paste wax.
 
Thanks for the step by step Henry, I think I'll try that since I have some oak lying around and I've been looking to get a darker tone for my current project.

Oak can be darkend with ammonia fumes.
They react with natural chemicals in the oak.
 
Very nice Henry, shape of handle would make for a good grip.
