Well, I was asked what I wanted for my birthday, and all I really wanted was a stereo, like a Sony or an Alpine, or even just some money towards one. I got a Durabrand (Walmart) stereo cd player for my b-day from my family, and at first I was just going to take it back, exchange it for store credit, and buy one of the cheaper Sony Xplod cd stereos. Then I thought about it. I plan on buying a Silverado next year, this truck in all likelihood will be sold to someone in my family, and while they can hear much better than I, have often said they don't need crisp quality audio sound, and my little sister, who is going to get her license soon, and really likes my truck, said she doesn't need a tricked out audio system in "her truck". Heh, they've told me that I don't need one of those $300 stereo systems cause I'm half deaf.

Anyway, going to install the stereo tonight, with a little help, and I'm interested to see how it works. Anyone had any experience with this brand?

I put a Durabrand casette deck in my mom's jeep. Her stock one died and she did not want a CD player. It has worked well, for over a year now. Not bad for $25.

The biggest problem that I could see is making it fit/work right. Most all of the bigger names in car stereo gear will have kits to make the head unit fit into the vehicle nicely, and also a wiring harness to connect it without having to hack up the factory harness.

Yeah you often need a blanking place and a cabling adapter to make them fit in place of a manufacturer specific unit. I fitted my Ford Mondeo out with a blaupunkt head unit and pioneer 3 way custom fit speakers, had to fit a blanking plate and cabling adapter and had to change the speaker connectors over to spade connectors as Ford use a non standard radio size, non standard radio connector and non standard speaker connectors
