This just arrived and thought I would share.
It's his Kephart HD.
Fits my large hands perfectly without an oversized handle. The knife is not too big and not too small and feels perfect on the belt. Looking forward to using it on hikes.
Feels like a real workhorse. Nice work John! His forum on this site is here> http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=830

mmmmmm sexy red liners! blade looks great and that handle looks comfy! thanks for the spine shot...i love seeing handles from the top....looks thicker than i wouldve thought

That sure is a great looking knife ... got any specs on it ?

Sure,

John makes a thinner Kephart but I wanted the HD version he also offers which is this model.

It is 9" overall with a 4" blade.
4 1/4" butt to index finger cutout.
.185 under the handles and .183 just forward of the ricasso.
.848 at the forward pin
.908 at the middle pin
.917 at the rear pin

THAT is a tough looking knife. I have a keppy from him and it has done a ton of duty and stayed in there ready for more.

That is a beautiful HD Kephart. Youre gonna love it.

I also have a JK HD Kephart and it is a beast!!!

From what I understand there are alot of his 1/8" Kepharts around, but very few HD 3/16" models. Actually Besides mine, yours is the only one that I have seen.

Heres a quick shot of mine...

Yours is the very first HD I ever made. There are probably 6 or 8 of them out there.

I used to own that one..... Got it straight from John.

I had Ban put a very nice edge on it. Glad to see it still kickin along!!

I have one that I can proudly say I picked up from John himself at his shop then bs'd for about an hour or so afterwards.

I got it after seeing Jake's (j williams) post about his.

Great knife, Great maker. 'nuff said

Johns Kephart is a simple, solid, tough as hell performer. Matched by a few, beat out by none.:D
