I thought I'd share a couple of pics of my latest knife. This one is a bushcrafter from Mat Tackett. I just got it yesterday and so far all I've had a chance to do is cut up some veggies in the kitchen for supper last night. Works great for that! :P

You might be able to see some patina forming from the red onion it cut. I'm going to let it patina naturally with use.

This one is 1095 with burl scales on micarta spacers and mosaic pins. It fits my hand really well and I can't wait to get out and use it. If you guys aren't familir with Matt's work, he makes some really good knives meant to be used. He won (tied) a recent friendly competition with one of his knives and got high praises from all involved. The ergonomics of his handle design is just right. Thanks Matt!

Sorry about the poor picture quality. If it ever stops raining (going on almost an entire month straight of daily rain here) I'll get outside and get some better pics w/ my camera. These pics just don't do the knife justice.

Very nice wood on that one. Is it convex? Nice knife overall.

Thanks guys! Yep, full-height convex with a very small secondary which will end up being convex as I use it more. And it's pouring out, no hi-res pics today!

Looks very nice, Sulaco. I have been impressed by the looks of his offerings.

What did you fix for supper with the red onion, jalapenos and mushrooms?

I was wondering if someone might ask! Ham-fried rice, South Carolina style! ;) We don't use Soy Sauce (too much sodium) so my wife just came up with some ingredients that I think make it even better. For this batch I used mushrooms, carrots, red onion, jalapeno, white onion, ham, green bell pepper, sushi rice, fresh garlic, powdered ginger, s&p, dried Thai chilli (can you tell I like spicy food?) and Daikon Kim Chi (Korean fermented stuff, hot and good).

Leftovers again tonight!

Sounds good. I grow some Thai chili peppers along with serrano, jalapeno and chiltepin peppers in my garden for cooking. I did Pad Thai last night but occasionally I make a Texas style fried rice with brisket, onion, carrots, bell peppers and whatever peppers I pick in the garden. Bushcrafters have to eat too.

Nice! I used to eat Thai at a local place but it closed years ago. Now we're on a Korean food kick.
