Four years of searching and hounding the For Sale section and I finally had the opportunity to acquire a Spyderco ATR. It is the stainless model and fully serrated. I would have much preferred the plain edge, but I wasn't going to miss out. The knife came to me in exquisite condition. Not a scratch or smudge anywhere. Truly NIB condition.
As to the knife... it is much lighter than I had imagined. It is also big in the hand, mostly due to the size of the handles and width of the blade. It has the most aggressive serrations I have ever seen. Much more aggressive than my Serrated Endura. I carried this knife once to get a fee for it. The clip really locks onto the jeans, but you know it is there. It garnered attention from anyone who saw it. Some commented on its aggressive looks others simply admired how "beautiful" it is. It is really a unique knife and I don't see myself parting with it. I'm still hopeful for a Sprint ATR in a plain edge. That one.I will use, but I can't sharpen serrations and this knife has too much value to me to be able to be carried. It's funny to me, most of my knives are at least $150+ and I had no problems using my Umnumzaan, but that could be replaced or repaired.
In closing I really dig this knife. It is very unique and very impressive looking.
Now for the good stuff

my acquisitions this year... I have a 940-1 on the way that I'm very excited about

Great review thanks. Are spydie holes in the handle any problem collecting dust or dirt? Is it heavy?

It didn't seem any different than what my Benchmade knives would collect between the scales on the knives with no backspacers. The knife is surprisingly light given its size. I think it would be pretty scary to use when wet though. The holes help with the Grip when everything is dry, but you can still tell that it would be pretty slippery if hands were sweaty or anything else.
