I just picked up my 25lb. Little Giant power hammer. This sucker is in great shape. (I've only done a few damascus pieces but, that was enough for me to know I don't want to do them all by hand). Now I just have to figure out how to mount it.) The new forge room is the barns old milk house. The floor's a bit busted up so I'll probably pour a small concrete pad with set bolts and put a couple pieces of plywood in between for a cushion. Anyone who has one of these can feel free to chime in with tips.;)

J. I am green with envy. A friend has one of these and man does it make a difference! I can't wait to lay hands on one. I'm on my way to the intro to bladesmithing course at the ABS school next week. After 80 hours of hand hammering, I bet I'll want one of these even more!!

Mr Andrews sure said it right, this is what clean livin'l git ye. Righteous, J! Something like that might even make a hammerer outta me.

Keep it up man, you'll be on the cover of Rolling Stone in 18 months!

That brings back memories. Dont hang on too tight when the steel is too cold. You will see. Nice score. It looks like a good one.

Great looking tool. It looks like it just rolled of the manufactures line. Nice to get an older machine that was taken care of. I want one!

Nice score man! I got my 25# LG about a year ago and had to clean her up and get some replacement parts for it. In case you didn't know, they still make/sell parts for these machines. Here is the contact info:

Sid and every body there is great to work with. If you give them your serial number they will tell you when the hammer was built and who it was orignally sold to. Mine was built on 2/22/22 and sold to a guy in Iowa, I bought it in Illinois, so it only traveld about 200 miles in 80 years.

Anyway, I sure you will love it and it is amazing how much metal these little hammers will move. I have a couple 2D CAD drawings I made for new dies, a pair of flattening dies and a pair of drawing dies. I had them CNC cut out of S7. Let me know if you want me to email them to you.

Have fun and be careful.

Hey Laredo, I'd love to get those die plans if you get a chance to send them my way. That would take care of one of my two troubles. The other is to get Tess away from the sheaths for a few minutes and get her to make me a new belt.:D
Now I want to check out my hammers history...
