I don't post here often, but I've been reading the WSS more and more lately. I wanted to share my latest addition to my woods-bumming kit. A Spyderco inspired custom by Mariano Yannoni (an Argentine maker who's also a good friend of mine). Since I was a bit short on funds (just got a bunch of new stuff) my girlfriend got it for me as a Valentine's gift. :D

The blade is full flat ground out of D2, it tapers nicely to a very sharp edge and pointy tip. The handle is dark palisander which has a very nice grain to it that the pics don't show well (what looks like white spacers is actually a change in wood colour that Mariano thought about removing but I wanted to keep).

It's really very comfortable, even though the handle looks a bit too complicated it just works. Overall length is 19,5cm (around 7.7"), the blade is 9,5cm long (about 3.75").

I would love to read a review on this knife. the design is very different from most wood knifes i have seen or used. keep us posted on how it works. also some in hand pictures would be nice. i am curious of how comfortable the reverse grip would be on that one.

These little short fat blades sure are sleeper hits with the utility crowd. Boker just picked up the "pry mate" by Vox, and it is an amazing blade.

Looks like a handy little blade. Would work well with a neck sheath.

I've never been able to carry anything around my neck for more than a few minutes, it just feels uncomfortable (to me, ymmv). I'm probably going to put together a more compact pocket sheath for it, though. Might try my hand at some kydex.

The handle is very comfortable, the curves work well in different grips and the swells are in the right places. I'll try to get some in hand pics tomorrow (it's rather late down here). He did measure it to my hand and made a few adjustments to make it fit better.

The maker is a sort of design geek, and likes to get complicated at times. I tend to favour simpler handles, but I can't deny this one feels comfy and looks nice.

Natty compact little knife. Liking the taper in particular, especially with that handle shape delivering it.

that's a cool looking little blade.. i like it... nice to see you here Francisco..:)

The handle profile is similar to the Chinook, with the top curve moved back a bit.
Beautiful knife overall, I like the blade slanting down from the handle.
