to preface this post a little; i am not a hard user of pocket knives especially since i'm now retired and am a little disabled. and so, my new edc knives are as follows;

a '08 vic alox soldier -- carried in my front right pocket...

a case med. yellow handle cv stockman--kept stowed in my watch/coin pocket.

the case stockman was bought at a small hardware store here in kansas shortly after moving here from new orleans a few years ago. i absolutely love the small profile of this knife especially for a stockman pattern. the blades on this knife seem to be nice thin ones and similar to those on a case peanut. i just wonder if carl would agree on this similarity?

in closing, i'd love to hear your comments etc. on this combination!

Brian

They're both great knives and will pretty much do any task you call upon them to do. And you're right, they are nice and light and easy to carry.

My best to you from one retired LEO to another. Hope you are enjoying your retirement and that your "little disability" doesn't hinder you too much in doing so.

looks like you got all bases covered. i have a similar edc combo, i have a sak recruit on my keys and pair it up with another pocket knife. so far so good.

Seems like a good combo to me Brian :thumbup:

My usual EDC is a Vic Soldier and a Case Medium Stockman with Harvest Orange handles so i may be biased ;)

Sounds like a great combination, Brian! I carry a Vic Farmer (and a Rambler) and a Case Chestnut Bone CV Peanut. I'm retired also except for some seasonal farm work, and the Peanut does, by far, most all the cutting I need done.

I usually carry either a Case large Stockman or a Buck 301 and I often add a Vic Tinker.

Great combo, nice choice.
It's almost my combination of EDC: Victorinox Black Spartan in my watchpocket and Queen canoe in my EC bag!
