If you recall my post from last week, i got a promotion
and so with the promotion i got a raise and therefore permission to spend a little money ;)
So i ordered me one a case trapper in cv and amber bone.

i havent checked to see if the vender is a BF member or not so i wont say who
but i asked them to check to make sure i got a knife with no gaps, or blade play and centered blades, and i can see someone took the knife out of the wax paper so i am pretty sure they checked and sent me a good one! Very happy.

its the full sized trapper, my first. i think i am going to like it!
well it arrived today and was waiting for me after work, so it was already dark, but i snapped a few pics just 'cause ;)

Very nice Ryan and congrats on the promotion bud  which one are you leaving home tomorrow? ;)

well i will probably leave the gec at home. need a few days to adjust to the new precious
make sure she holds up to work and all, although i am betting she will do just fine

dont think its the rancher series, which i believe is stag
this one was listed as amber bone...

Beautiful knife!
It doesnt look like my amber bone Case knives.
Are you sure it isn't part of the Rancher series? I know some actually say "rancher" on the scales, but I thought they made some similar to yours without the label? (I could easily be wrong though)

eh, shows what i know...
thanks for the correction Sarah :P

not to do any deal spotting, but paid about $5 more for this full sized trapper than i did for my buck 309 in a brick and mortar store ;)
lol found me a good deal i think :)

The sawcut amber bone looks good. One of my favorite carries is the full-size trapper in regular? amber bone and I love it. I hope the trapper does well for you and congratulations on your promotion.

Good looking knife Ryan. Congrats!

I bet it will do just fine as well. Want to here how you like that long spey after some use? Really like the handles on it.

That should be a really good knifed. I think you'll be happy with it. Now, if they'll just give us a wharncliffe secondary in that handle and steel.

thanks!
i am liking it. i dont have the edge to where i am happy with it, but i worked on it a little last night.
it did just fine today at work.

i enjoy the large handle, larger than i am used to, and it is very comfortable
i also am liking the wider blade :P

one thing, and its not a complaint, but i guess i have gotten used to half-stops and the case mini-trapper has them and the regular trapper doesnt. as i said, not a complaint, just taking me a bit to adjust to it not being there :P

pretty often i get by with just one blade, so i am going to keep the spey for food and as a backup blade ...at least thats my thoughts moving forward.

I have only used 2 knives with half stops in my life- until I started on BF I didn't know they were important. I find the trapper in my pocket fairly regularly but I guess I have always been more of a stockman guy. The trapper that I have is about 20 years old with yellow scales and CV blade steel so it isn't near as pretty as yours. I find the Case CV steel is pretty much all that I really need.

There are absolute beauties. I have a blue one just like it about to be delivered tomorrow.

Case makes some of the best looking knives around. Good taste. Congrats!
