Just got this from Dwaine. All I can say it is completely different than anything I ever owned or handled. I have mixed emotions about it and will put it in my knife display case and see if it grows on me. Here is a pic of the knife courtesy of Dwaine Carillo's web site.

Me, I like that kind of knives, and if I had enough money left to buy one of those, it would be a perfect EDC. You're a lucky guy to get one of these strong babies.

I have been thinking about buying one of these. Did you buy it with the intent to use it or to store it? What are your impressions of the knife in terms or lock-up, weight, any other aspects you would like to comment on.

I am not going to carry the knife as it is too heavy and bulky for that. It locks up like a vault and requires a little force to close the liner lock. The clip is very uncomfortable because I think it is too big. I like the grinds on the blade which I think is the knifes best feature. Overall it is a cool looking knife but in my opinion not that user friendly. If you are looking to buy one go direct to Dwaine's site and the wait isn't really too bad, maybe 2 months the most. He is also very friendly and accommodating. You have to pay for the knife up front before he will put you on the list. I paid $425.00 inc. shipping for this one.

Very distinctive knives. I don't really care for the tactical look, but there is something about these knives that really appeals to me.

Larry, I am sure you could call D.C. and have him make you a new clip. It should be pretty cheap for him to do. Maybe even for free, if you send the old one back.

There's nothing wrong with clip, it's just to big in my opinion. That's the style and is big for a reason.

I thought you were saying that because it was too big it got in the way of your grip. As far as whatever reason the clip was designed so big is a matter of opinion. It's your knife, and if you think it's too big, there's nothing wrong with getting one that suits you better.

I guess your right, but I don't plan on carrying the knife so I will leave it the way it is.

i just talked to dwaine and he said he was about 3 weeks out on the tripwires. I was looking at one of the supermodified double titaniums. My concern was that it was going to be too big to carry... I really like the aggressive look, wish he made one about 80% of that size.

To me it is a little big to carry, but everybody is different. Which model were you considering?

supermodified double titanium, model 8

I believe that is the top of the line tripwire. Go for it . If you don't like it you won't have any trouble selling it I'm sure.

They are very heavy and large for an EDC, especially in the summer. I love it but have nowhere to put it when in the office environment without being a bit obvious. It is extremely solid. I have supermod model 8 and it is impressive.

I don't consider the Tripwire an EDC. I just think it is a cool looking knife and like looking at it in my knife case. When and if I get tired of it I will sell it.
