Hey guys, i finally got my Tyrade today in a late Christmas delivery. I love this knife, the speedsafe system snaps open the knife with a loud clack. No blade play at all. The G10 IMO is perfect, great balance of grip and non-torn up pockets. It came sharp enough to shave hair and theres a bare patch on my arm to prove it (: I do have one question though, at some point I will need to disassemble to clean and lube. Is the speedsafe system easy to disassemble and put back together for a beginner? I've already got a 1oz bottle of rem oil waiting to be used, and I don't want to take the knife apart and not be able to put it back together.

A friend at work has a Blur that was dirty as heck. I took it apart and cleaned it for him. It's not really difficult, just pay attention how you take it apart. In order for things to work right there's really only one way to put it back together. Now, he digs with his knife so there was alot of dirt in it. I wouldn't be taking apart knives just to clean out lint or something. A good hot water flush should work for that.

Congrats on your new Tyrade. A bunch of knife for the money!

The Speedsafe will quicken as the knife breaks in. I'd put a small drop of oil from the spine side down into the pivot area, and work it a few times. As I said, it will break in after a while. You shouldn't need to break it down now unless you want to polish the washers , liners and blade pivot area. They're easy to tear down; #6 Torx for the scales and a #8 for the pivot. When you take it down, make sure to put a small dab of grease (automotive type works great) in the torsion bar cavity. It keeps the rattles away.

Enjoy!

Although the Tyrade's handles too wide for my hands, I bought all the black, orange and tan version. I love the design, the technology and the #1 materials.

the black one is the one i got, i was really surprised with the handle, it is really grippy i love it

Be careful when you take out the handle/frame screws. There aren little nuts in the backside holes that the screws go into. On a couple of mine, the nuts turned and would not unscrew. When I did get them out, the nuts fell out as they were loose in the hole. It is not a big deal to fix as a small drop of super glue fixed mine. As far as the nuts turning, I just used a 2-56 screw I had and screwed it into the back side a couple of turns to hold the nut while I unscrewed it fron the front.

These Tyrades are one of the best deals going!:thumbup::)

hey guys another question, do you think the value of this knife will grow significantly in a few years, i got mine at around 80 dollars at what i think is a steal

I would expect the orange ones to increase in value the most, followed by the tan, due to rarity. I wouldn't think they'll be hugely valuable, but we can hope...

I have two of each color, and am going to pick up another black for carry. I plan to let 'em rest a while in my drawer! Except for the tan in my EDC rotation and the black to come.

Who knows about the rise in price, it would be nice, but I bought the ones I did because they are such a fantastic value!!
