My new Vallotton. Ooh, baby!

Just when I think I've acquired the sexiest Spyderco offering... they come out with another that tops the previous. The Vallotton is the latest (for me).

It feels awesome in the hand. It is HEFTY. It's THICK. When flicked open, it has a thunderous THWACK! The polished G10 rivals carbon fiber in appearance (IMHO). The bolsters are gorgeous. The "thumb studs" that act as blade stops nest into the recesses of the bolster beautifully and create functional art.

Sorry for all the finger prints.... I can't keep my paws off this one!

I handled one of these today at my local (well ~200 mi away) knife shop. Very thick (for a Spydie) sexy blade, but I don't like the hump where the hole is.

I own one and like it. It just does not carry well for EDC. I take it out of the draw every now and then and admire it. Open and close it a few times then put it back.

Why do you say it does not carry well? Just curious. I did slip it into my dress / business slacks briefly and walked around the office. Seemed OK to me. But, I have not really carried it for a full day yet.

Well lets just say it does not carry as well as my Para 2 or my Manix 2. The weight and the thickness make it less than desirable for EDC for me.

Every time I think I am done buying for a while Spyderco comes out with another winner like this one!

Can't wait to get my hands on one of these.. the store I usually I get it from says it's back ordered from Spyderco till Nov/Dec.

Thanks for the links DapperDan:thumbup:

I usually get my spydies from cutleryshoppe, Jeff usually has them for an excellent price... I try to save as much cash as I can:)

Cutleryshoppe does have some better prices. I have not bought from them before. I have them bookmarked but I just didn't like the way their website is laid out. I will have to check them out the next time I'm looking for a knife.

I'm a fan of CutleryShoppe.com. The vast majority of my purchases come from there. Excellent service. Funny... I like their website layout better than most others. :)

Hi Racer,

Thanx much. Very nice pics.

Thanks for chiming in, Sal! I'm flattered, for sure! One of the things I enjoy about photographing your knives is that they hold up to the extreme close-up scrutiny of macro photography. I think it speaks highly of the quality of Spyderco knives. And, the Vallotton is a perfect example to magnify like this. :)
