My New Vantage Pro (Question)

Just got my brand new Vantage Pro and was giving it a look over. Love the knife. But had one question. And forgive me for sounding dumb, but I'm a knife newbie. When opening the Vantage Pro, is it designed to be done so with one hand (pressing on that metal tab and then using a quick snap of your wrist to engage the liner lock). Cause if I try to use both hands to open the blade, the liner lock doesn't fully engage......but when I give it a good flip of my wrist I can clearly hear it snap into the locked position and I can see that the metal liner has moved over so that it won't slip.

I guess I'm comparing it to my Spyderco Native (from Wally World) which snaps into place without flipping my wrist. Thanks.

it was made with one handed opening in mind, if it wasnt buck would have put a nail nick in it instead. I ope mine by the blade with my thumb until its open no flicking involved.

I open mine with the pivot tab, or whatever it's called, but the thumb hole works too. The pivot is quicker for me. After using it for a while I don't even need to flick my wrist, I just push the tab and it locks securely open.

I deploy the blade of my Vantage Avid with my right index finger, using the flipper. No wrist motion needed.Being as your knife is new,it will become even faster once it's been broke in.You might try spraying a little break free into the pivot area at the base of the blade.Nice Knife!

My new Vantages (Avid, and Pro) require some wrist movement for full deployment. Same for my new, not so new Vantage Select. They all get a solid lock this way.

On the other hand...

If I open either of them with both hands, or by one hand using the hole, there is a solid lock in all cases.

No difference either way with my samples.

Thanks everyone. I think I was being a little too careful when my Vantage Pro came in the mail and I was looking it over, LOL! I got the hang of it now (one hand and two hand deployment). Yeah, I sort of figured there might be a "break in" period for some knives. The lock-up is solid.

Beautiful knife, my first Buck.
