My friend Greg just finished my Viking Axe Sheath!! (He knows his way around some leather)
What do you guys think?
I cross posted this in the Axe forum too if that is ok.

The Axe itself is kinda cheap, but it is a costume piece for the Renaissance Faires I frequent, and we cannot take them out of the sheath at Faire, so in a way, the sheath is more important, kinda "Purpose Built" the character I play is a Viking Archer. It will compliment my quiver and longbow nicely. :)
I would bet the axe head would perform ok, but the handle not so much, but this is not an axe I would actually use.

That's pretty neat. So the axe is held in by gravity? Is there no strap to keep it from falling out, or is the fit enough. Not that you'll be standing on your head. Or will you? :p

Is there a dee ring, or is that a leather ring that connects the loops? Hard to tell. I would probably have used a brass or nickel ring or dee for something seeing hard or often use, but for the fair I'm sure it's fine. I don't know that I've seen braiding and saddle stitching on one piece before. Very different. :)

Well it is a "Hanger" will hang at my side, no need to stand on my head, the ring is metal, and the fit is pretty dang tight, I guess I could have him add a strap, but don't think I'll really need one.
