Ok,so I didn't buy it at Walmart. But I do have a couple of questions, and search for non-paying members is down (gotta upgrade my membership). If I understand correctly the X-timer line was one of the last for USA made Imperial Schrades? If so for how long was the 24otx made? And last, what did they use to coat the stainless blades?

We really don't know how many of these were made at this point, but they are not common. They were made for Wal-Mart for 1 1/2 years at most, 2003-2004, and were not a cataloged item. Not all Walmarts received them either.

The blade coating is titanium nitrite (or nitride, not sure) and comonly called "Tit-Nit". I think it is one of the most handsome knives made in the X-Timer series. It is a shame that the Wal-Mart buyers rejected the 152OTX design. United Cutlery did pick it up after Schrade closed and made a version of it with the Harley Davidson and Rigid brandings. Also, there were some poorer imported versions with Winchester branding.
