Ok. I'm in. First Sebenza.

I would like to post pics of my new setup, but they will not let me (yet - I think).

The knife is a large cocobolo classic and the sheath is a flap-over Vess custom with a Celtic Cross embossed on the front. It is way cool and I would love to share it. Who can help me post the pictures? The cross design is from the O'Shea clan (my mother's people).

Can't help with the pics but I can tell you that you have done well! The large Classic wood inaids are my all time favorites. Can't wait to see the sheath you had made.

Patrick asked me to post some pictures of the sheath...

First, before I started on the sheath, he emailed me this picture of the O'Shea clan cross, that he wanted carved on the flap: O'Shea Clan Cross

And here is what it ended up looking like:

The knife and the sheath (once it arrived):

And these are of the sheath before I shipped it:

Pretttyy... :)

Nice one Vess! The cross, did you use several embossing stamps to make that up? Hard to see the detail in those pics.

Nice knife too, one of the nicer ones, classic with wood inlays! Good choice!

You should be proud to carry that, and Vess, your work is outstanding!

Professor.

Awww! :) Thanks!

G2 > Yep, it took quite a large number of tiny little bevelers pressed down by hand. The thing was too small to even use a hammer on it, and no space for shading or anything like that. But it turned out really well, almost no loss of detail between the original picture and the embossing.

My great thanks to Vess and CRK.

It is humbling to own such great works of craftsmanship. It is like a man conceiving a child. We had very little to do with it, but still get partial credit for the outcome.

I've looked at this picture at least 50 times... and you know what? Wow, that's impressive. Congrats!
