Well, I forgot my camera in my buddies truck and he just gave it back to me today, so it was a while since I've been able to post my pictures.

For New Year's day I went up to Uxbridge, Ontario to visit one of my buddies. He just managed to inherit this 200 acre woodlot that used to be a christmas tree farm/cross country ski resort. Lucky guy! Anyhow, he was just staying there a couple of days and put in the call for me to check it out. His place is about 4 h drive, but well worth it. New Year's eve was a time of a good bit of snowfall as was New Years day so we came to the place in good winter cheer. Temperatures were about -15oC with a good wind chill.

First pictures are Friday afternoon where we took about 1 hr walk around the place.

Private land, so we were walking around with beer in our hands. Kind of a no no for winter, but we weren't camping, just walking the grounds.

Here was a bunch of the old christmas tree areas that have grown out a bit since last utilized.

Starting to get dark, so we headed in for the night.

More coming....

Next morning, I took his wife for a walk while my buddy tended his little rug rats. His wife was glad for the bit of outdoor time to herself. They have a 2-year old and a 4 mo-old, both girls. Man, I was more exhausted in the house watching them watch over the girls than I was walking in the snow.

This area was full of big white pine. Obviously planted in geometric pattern. One hell of a line up of telephone poles!

Alice in Wonderland started her adventures by tumbling down the rabbit hole. I wonder if something like this was what got it all started for her?

Think this would be a good place for a snare?

More walking.

This was one of the old Chalet buildings for the ski resort part. Disused for quite some time. Check out the size of the tree growing out of that foundation.

Not too many gear shots, I apologize. I had my S&N Hudson Bay axe, RC-Izula and Walter Davis blades with me.

The road home was pretty nasty, then once we got into Toronto proper it became quite nice again.

Ken, she wanted alone time? Than why were you there?

Just kidding, looked a lot like that in southern Ohio when I went hunting. Just a bit more hilly.

Awesome photos K. Looks like a great time.

There's some fatwood in those pines. I can almost smell it.

Those conifer woods are wabbit heaven

Great pics.

Find 40 straight pine trees, cut and peel them, then start building the cabin in spring :)

I'd like to say that those snow pics make me glad I live in the desert, but with more snow and the colder than normal temps, that almost looks familiar:D

It looks like a good time, regardless though:thumbup:
