A friend of my wife's and mine was supposed to cook dinner last night as he is a chef here at a five star hotel. He ended up having to work until 10 pm last night so his girlfriend- also a friend of ours, cooked dinner after he prepped everything for her. The food was amazing but her new Shun of the Ken Onion flavor was dull. I offered to sharpen it on my 1000 grit stone. She declined as the knife was crooked and she was going to return it. (We also didn't have a peeler.) I had just sharped my Case jigged bone medium trapper in stainless yesterday as I was lurking in the traditional forums. It was shaving sharp. So as I helped prep for her, I used my trapper to peal 2 mangos, 2 cucumbers, thinly slice 2 lemons and a lime. I proceeded to help all night long to open things, slice food, even cut the tip off of the cigar my brother brought. Alright so it didn't SAVE the evening but it sure did make things easier and more enjoyable that's for sure. I hope you guys had as good a night as I did and if you have any stories you'd like to share please do!
