Just got my new Umnumzan and I must say it's very nice. It took me a while to find a newer one that has the extra chamfering (or whatever you call it) on the lockbar that makes it easier to open left handed. I'm not left handed, but when I mess around with a knife I like to be able to open it lefty. And they do have duel thumbstuds so it's nice to be able to use both.

Mine also came smooth out the box and opens fast.

Good work again CRK and I'll see y'all Saturday

Congrats on the new knife
I also just recieved my first umnumzaan and it has really exceeded my expectations.
Im an admitted sebbie addict and have held off buying an umnum for the longest time.
I love the weight and ergos and just overall handling. And talk about smooth. Its
smoother than my reg sebenza with the new washers. I was surprised at first to see how
small the lock cutout is. But once you practice a little you see it was designed to function
perfectly. This thread needs a couple pics so.....

fourth on that, why post a thread about your new umnum, if you don't show us :(

I was getting ready for work when the knife arrived. Didn't have time for pics. I am working nights so I will post in the morning when I get off.

Here are some pics showing the difference between the older ones and the newer ones with the extra cutout for access to the thumbstud for left handed opening.

this is an older one without

The Umnumzaan is a great knife, enjoy. :)

I have always just used the glass breaker to pop the blade then used the stud to open the knife for left handed use. I'm not a big fan of the new chamfered lock bar my self. I find it makes unlocking the knife a bit harder, especially with gloves.

What year did they come out with the new chamfered lock bar? My Zaan is my favorite knife to carry, but I do carry on my belt with it.

The stamp on my scales says B10. So anything after that I would assume would have it. Don't know how long before that though.

can't wait to see the pics :D next on my list is an umnum, threads like these do nothing but add fuel to the fire that my wallet can't handle at the moment :'(

the pics that you just posted are they both with the s30v, and he just redesigned the handle a little later? or is the newer one also with the new s35vn? (i'm still new to CRK >.<)

All are still CPM S30V as far as I know. I don't think they have made the switch on the Umnumzaan yet to S35Vn

Wow, I had no idea that there was any changes made until I saw your pics  :D

I suppose it helps with using the left side thumb stud and also for slimming down that part of the scale to make the handle more comfortable :)

It's nice to know that CRK loves us enough to improve a perfect knife :p
