I got this earlier this week! (Crappy phone photo - One of these days I want to get some decent pics of all three of my CRKs with my DSLR camera.)

Next I want to get plain Jane large Sebenza and a plain Jane Insingo small or large Sebenza. Of course after my knife budget recovers.

WOW, that is beautiful. Looks like cocobolo, but some ebony is Highly Figured. The old Buck 110's used to have the nice ebony, Always knew CRK would have some just as nice or better.....!!! Hard to find with the beautiful light and dark streaks. There was one on knifeart that I watched for quite awhile and like many times, waited just a tad too long as it ended up selling. Gotta love the CRK inlays.

This has a Born date of Nov 27, 2012. I was planning on buying a plain Jane Sebenza, but I saw this on the BF Exchange and couldn't pass it up!

Wow ..... took me by surprise. Would have never guessed it was ebony unless you mentioned it. That has a really unique grain/color. Great catch!

On Sebenzas with any form on inlay , is the titanium handle polished ?

On mine the scales are stone washed (if that is the correct term). Then only the main outside surfaces are polished; the outside edges are not polished. ALSO the bar that the clip mates with is not polished. I know, a picture is worth a thousand word - I will post a pic late...

The Ti is polished on all inlays except the Micarta, which has full blasted scales

The partially polished and partially blasted handle seems a little mismatched. I think I'd prefer all blasted. But I have yet to see any in person so I may be seduced by the inlays.

It doesn't show very well in the picture but I think the polished handle makes these wood inlays really pop. The blasted/polished combo doesn't look mismatched to me, but that is subjective. I would think the all blasted handle would work better for certain inlays where you need more contrast, like box elder or white mammoth.

For the lockside on Polished inlay Sebs, the Lockbar and clip is beadblasted.
This pic doesn't show the contrast too well, but you get the idea.

There is a thread or two around explaining why this is, mostly due to the manufacturing steps. The lockbar tension is set BEFORE they are polished, so the lockbar doesn't touch the sanding table.

On topic: That grain pattern in that Ebony is very nice. Better than my cocobolo shown above.

Very Nice lookin' knife. Like other have said the wood doesn't look like ebony at all, more like cocobolo. I have a Madagascar rosewood inlay which is still nib.

I think CRK may use 1 or 2 other inlays from Madagascar.

Enjoy your new CRK and use it.:D

I have a Madagascar Rosewood Sebbie in my pocket right now. It's a great looking inlay.
