I have been looking at the Techno for some time now and cannot make up my mind. I, for some reason, don't warm up to the small Spydercos. I have tried and given a number of them away. About the smallest I can get excited about is the Caly 3. I would really appreciate it if someone could put up a pic showing both knives side by side. I really want to like this knife but am hesitant because of this factor - everything else screams "Buy Me!".

Such a cool knife. I've always wanted one, but feel I need to see it in person first before paying for it.

Now if we could just get you to ditch your cell phone camera and take some clear, well lit pictures with a real camera we'd be in business. ;)

The Techno is really nice. I would have one if they were made in the States. Otherwise I'm totally stoked on my Sm Seb and Strider PT-CC as my small knives.

Joeyza: Great knife and nice pics. I like mine with a clip, but have never carried one. I seem to admire mine by pulling it out of the box, flexing it once or twice and then putting it back. I enjoy the heavy-duty build, the titanium and excellent blade-steel. I've had perhaps four or five Technos, all NIB, but they keep getting away from me as trade material...pass-through items. I have one left, and I'm hanging onto it...I hope.

to SteveWest: I've also had a Caly3 that I carried for several yrs. Excellent folder, but much lighter duty than the Techno. My Caly was VG10, although you can get them in ZDP-189 also, I believe. The blade is 0.125" thick, 4.0 inches closed length, and 3 ounces. The Techno, with CTS-XHP, is a relatively thick blade, at 0.177", length closed 3.43" (87 mm) cutting edge 2.33" (59 mm) weight 3.6 oz (102 g).
There really is no real comparison between these two knives, as one, the Caly3, is perfect for casual EDC (office-carry), whereas the other, the TECHNO, is built for much heavier useage but will not slice as well with its thicker blade-stock. The TECHNO would be happier as a backup to your bush-knife, or to your grown son or grandson who treats his boy-toys pretty roughly.
They are both great, but different.
joeyza: sorry to intrude. I'm sure you'll love this knife.

My techno is my go to small knife. Works great in shorts and for lightweight pants.

I think the pics are just fine thanks

I dont have a caly 3 but I can take a pic of it side by side to a para 2 and a tenacious to give you a better idea

I don't ususally go for Spyderco's mostly because I hate the location of the thumbhole and what it does to the blade shape. But I do like this one

It's a great knife, for sure. I've been carrying mine every day since I got it just shy of a year ago. I sold my Small Regular Sebenza, Small 21 Tanto and Sebenza 25 since getting this knife and believe it's a better small EDC than my Small Seb, my Strider PT or my 3" XM-18 were. It's on par with them (and better in some areas based on my experiences) at a much better price.

Enjoy it!

Thanks for sharing. I really like the techno and would love to have one. Looks like a fun little knife
