So, I recently was looking for a smaller EDC Busse and decided that the SUS Scrofa would fit the bill nicely. I found a sporty knife and sheath combo for sale by TrailWolf on the exchange and pulled the trigger. When it arrived, the first thing I noticed was how NICE this thing feels in my hand! It just fits like it was made for me. It falls right into my palm when I open my hand, and works well when held with either an up or down grip. I did take an emery board to the very tips at the rear of the scales to round off the points, making it very comfortable in my grip. The only other thing that would enhance it, IMO, is the addition of serrations at strategic points on the handle. I've placed some skateboard grip tape on mine in order to improve the handling/retention, and I'm very pleased with the results. I plan to contact Garth to see if the shop could mill some serrations into the handle for me. I'm currently working "over here" and the Scrofa is on my belt as I type this. I haven't had much of a chance to abuse it, but when I took the picture in the stump, I did gouge out some chips with little effort.

Here are the "it happened" pics.

With the very nice sheath

I really didn't realize how nice these scales looked until I saw this picture

Tape at these points is a huge improvement for me

I'm really enjoying this one, and I appreciate TrailWolf letting it go!

Very nice SS.

I had a pumpkin SS that I modded pretty heavily. I eventually let it go, because I had a couple of smaller pieces of Infi, and wanted more medium sized.

I would like to get another SS, and leave it stock, except for a strip job.

Very good slicer! About the perfect "boat" knife in my opinion.

I have the CABS, Muck, and BAD, so I don't see getting another smaller one, but the SS is always on the back of my mind.

Congrats, the SS is a great user. It excels at cutting open boxes.... of future Busses.

I don't have this Busse model however, do have a cheap kitchen knife of similar design. It is a very useful design and I usually grab it first, in the Kitchen.

If they re released it again with a straight edge, I would be all over it! Such a great design.

The slicing ability at a lot of tasks is helped by the reverse curve, but it hindered a few, like cutting on a cutting board with a push cut.

I agree. It'a not a blade that can be used for every task (what blade is?) but so far, it has done very well. I plan to split some 2x6s for the fire pit in the next day or so. I'll get pics and post them up.

Thanks Fellas.
Bifattyt, Yeah, I really like the blade design and the ease of handling.
RussMo, I like the looks of yours as well. And your "little buddy" there!
darkaether, Yep, that's my plan. I'll give it a go in the morning.
Thanks Garth! I sent you an E-Mail yesterday about the mod I want to have done, but it was kicked back due to the mailbox being full. I just resent it. I hope it goes through this time! Edit: It didn't.
