My Father's Day present to myself arrived today, a Case Baby Butterbean (patern 62132). I had seen this pattern before but this was the first one I have seen sans bolsters and I heard it call my name. The bone is a wonderful rootbeer color shading towards translucent on the edges. It's about a 1/4 inch shorter than my Mini-Toothpick and will fit in the same William & Henry pouch I use for it. Despite it's youth the long pulls and swedges on both blades give it a great vintage look.

This one could almost replace my Peanut...may for awhile as it fits in the same space, the watch pocket of my jeans. Any other Baby Butterbean fans? The bone isn't really red tho in the pics it looks reddish, it is a root beer brown, very rich in color.

It is like the false edge on a hunting knife, allows the blade to pierce easier as well as removing a bit of weight...a tiny bit. I think it is also used simply for appearance.

Great knife Abs!. I've got several of these Case BB's with the bolsters but none with this bolsterless shadow look. I really like this one you have here. I totally agree about the long pulls and the swedges as well, and I will tell you from experience that these are great little EDC's with a huge amount of blade belly for such a compact little guy.. Great snag.

Very nice knife... I would really like to find one with the main blade and a bottle opener/flathead as the secondary. I saw one a couple years back a guy had "made" with multiple Case knives but never knew how to go about making it.

GotSmoke ~ Check the Maintenance, Tinkering & Embellishment, some of the guys here have done some amazing mods on SAKs as well as other brands.

I like the second blade on this, it is basically a smaller version of the main.

Never seen this barehead/bolsterless version before, really enticing small knife. Is it in current production?

This would have been 2001 production, don't know if it was a special run or not. I haven't been able to find out much about it so far.
