I received several e-mails about the last blade I posted here regarding the sperm whale in the damascus pattern, thanks to Achim W. and Tom M. for pointing that out, and thanks for all the nice e-mails.
That I throught I would post this blade that I just finished to see what kind of images it might inspire.
This one is 15n20 and cable, oal 8 3/4" w/4" blade, a beautiful piece of Box elder burl that Earl Johnson so generously gave me, with file work on the nickle silver guard and butt cap.

thanks
Bill

Very nice looking knife.I really dig the spacer in the handle.I think the pattern looks like ghosts.Shows you how this messed up brain works.:D

Wow.., very nice...I like the profile, and of course the damascus is beautiful....thanks for sharing...

One of your nicest so far Bill. Is the red circle around the pin natural? Great work on the buttcap and guard. The middle pattern kind of looks like a seated Gorilla with it's arm in the air to me. The one near the point looks a bit like a dinosaur standing in water.

Thanks guys, this is interesting on what different things people see in this blade and once someone mentions it, it does become plane to see. :)
Keith, the red spot is natural, and Stumpy that sounds like a good name for this knife, animal cracker D, with the different formations in the blade and the aray of colors in the handle its like a box of crackers.
