Please let me know what you think of this one.The Blade is 8 7/8 inches long of random pattern Damascus with a long un-sharpened back edge, the guard is a shield shape from nickel Silver, the pins are also Nickel silver. The handle is Framed from The same Damascus bar that was used for the Blade and then I put Cow bone scales that I dyed with some different colors of dye and then stabilized. The handle length is 4 1/2 inches long.
I am trying something new with the bone and I was wondering what you thought about it.

Just use a good quality rust preventative. I've seen several good blades ruined by drool

What TomF said. That looks like a very nice knife. I like the handle. What is the piece of metal that looks like a "J"?

Thanks for the kind words here.
The piece that you are asking about is just a fancy version of a Spanish notch.

Like that. The handle material looks very nice. Is it your 1095/5160/L6 damascus, or something else? How much would it cost?

BEAUTIFUL!
The scales are great, but I have a hard time looking at them, my eyes keep getting drawn back to that BLADE!
Absolutely beautiful!

Thanks everybody,This Bowie is for sale at $800.00 plus the shipping.
The Damascus is a little different than anything else I have tried.
It started out as the pieces that I had left over from the Bowie I did that had everything including the kitchen sink in it.I took a piece of 6150 and started welding all the pieces that I had left together until I had a solid bar then I stretched and folded it 5 times making sure that if there was any more of the pieces of carbide left in the original billet that it would crush up and thus not leave any pimples in the blade like I had on that other blade.I was pleased with the way this bar had turned out,It will be fun trying to recreat this type of pattern again.
I guess that this Bowie can be billed that it has everything including the kitchen sink in it #2
Thanks again,
Bruce

Now that is one sweet knife Bruce!!!

It's a perfect fit all around. I love the contrast between the damascus blade and the highly polished nickel silver guard. Sweeeeetttttt!!!!!
The bone handle also compliments this knife perfectly. It's got a great pattern and color. And again the nickel silver pins are a compliment.

I think that you got a real winner with this one. I only wish that I had the money because if I did I would be the first in line.

Keep up the good work.
