I thought I would share my newest Kephart design. I think this one is much closer to the one that Horace Kephart carried. It`s 9" overall, with a 4 1/2" blade of 1/8" O1 steel. This one has torched curly maple handles. What do you think?

I think the torched maple works great. It is one of the few likely the adornments that would have been available pre industrialisation of america.

Great job!

That's a beaut!

Actually reading "Our Southern Highlanders" by Horace Kephart right now. So far the cutlery he has mentioned mostly has been axes & jackknives. Of course the book now has me playing around with my old Blind Horse Knives Bushcrafter in curly maple, and actually checking out yours (JK Knives) and ML versions. Makes me want to head back up to Bryson City for a camping trip.

Great job. I think any real woodsman would be proud to have that knife on his or her belt.

I think it is gourgous!

I would love to see more pics from different angles and the tip of the blade. I like how it meets closer to the top of the blade instead of certer. Also, what is the length to first pin?

Great looking knife. Well done.

I appreciate all the comments so far, and will try to get more pictures this weekend.

I am finding the Kepharts more and more appealing.

I bought a Condor just to get a feel for how I like the pattern, and I like it.

This is a great rendering of this old classic, and very much true to the original.
