I've liked the teardrop pattern for a few years now. I've come across a few of them and when able I've purchased them. Both so far have been double blade but the one I got last month is a single and I really like it for the difference in the thickness. They're all Schatt & Morgan. It got me wondering about the Queen single blade teardrops with the liner locks. Anyone have some pics or a review they can post of the Queens? Here are some pics of my three including my newest thinner single blade. Its got the longer keystone sheild.

That single-blade S&M is a new one to me, very nice I would've been all over it!

The Queen liner lock (as already shown) is a firm favourite of mine. It comes with a more zulu Spear style blade rather than the broader leaf spear. Another variant to consider is the GEC 85 in EZ-Open, this is single blade but rather limited in availabilty. would like to see hem produce a conventional single blade type as well, their broad Spears are frankly peerless.

I've also got a custom single blade Teardrop from the legendary K.Hampton! Lack of camera and absence of skills prevent me from sharing......

Thanks, Will

Those are nice teardrops! Do they still make the one witht the long pull and two blades? That one is calling my name.

I have always thought the 3-7/8" teardrop to be just about the perfect frame for both use and aesthetics. The S&Ms all have the very cool looking broad spear blade, which has always seemed a little less useful to me. I like slender blades for EDC tasks. The Queen #06L linerlocks have a much more slender spear blade, so I have a couple in stag bone. The D2 steel is a definite plus as well-- holds a terrific edge.

Tom,
It's made in 2005, #042206, 1/100. I look around the net on occasion and find them when I can. The problem is sometimes other people want them more than I do! Especially on bid sites. Good luck finding one. If I see another in the future I'll give you a heads up on it.

Those Queens are nice looking. I was looking around the web for them and found a couple of wood handled ones also.

I have been tempted many times on that Queen teardrop. Don't know if I can hold out much longer, especially with Jeff showing those every so often.

Randy, that's quite a nice cache of S&M teardrops. Very cool.

Jeff, my ACSB Teardrop sees a lot of carry. It's the one knife I really fear to lose:eek::eek:
Very envious of that WCSB version you show, they're like Hens' teeth and rarer, certainly like to get one.
I have a BEM one too, but I've never liked that material, it doesn't look or even feel like wood! The one I got has a host of unpleasant issues too....:(
The Zebra Wood could be nice though.

Thanks, Will

Yes, Will, I never liked the BEM so never bought one in any pattern. I never liked a gray handled knife of any kind, looks dead.

I do have a #9 stockman in the CZW and it's very nice-- no doubt one day I'll break down and get the #06L in it, too.

"my ACSB Teardrop sees a lot of carry. It's the one knife I really fear to lose" That's a good way to put it!

Looking at the two woods I think I'd prefer the zebra wood. The other does look grey and dead.

Thanks everyone for the nice words on the teardrops.

Yeah, the BEM really turned out kinda strange. Looks like it could be vastly improved by a little super-fine sandpaper and some boiled linseed oil.

I recently sold my two blade tear drops to focus on the singles, which I like more. I haven't picked up one of the Queens yet because I haven't seen a price that makes me smile. I was able to scrape up two more S&M single blades and one of which I got from a member here. It's buffalo with a MOP (I think) keystone style shield. It's the first knive I've ever owned that had something besides steel as a shield. So, I've got that going for me! Another thing that caught my eye was the color combo of the black buffalo on the brass liners with the steel spring as seen on the back of the knife. It's got something going on there that I really like. The other newer one is a single blade also and it's got the dark blue jigged bone very much like the two blade one I don't have anymore. Well, enjoy and hopefully in the future I'll get my hands on one of those Queens!
