I'm looking for my next every day carry folding knife. I've had lots of different ones, from Benchmade autos, to Spydercos, to a Buck 110. Right now I have a factory second, Kershaw assisted that I carry, it works, but I want something nicer. I beat the hell out of my knives, and use them for things I probably shouldn't.

My budget is $200, and used is ok.

What I like -
Slim
Big blade
Strong
Plain looking
Some serrations

I had a Spyderco Endura 4 that I loved, it was fully serrated, and it cut through anything...but I didn't like the lock, and over all it wasn't that strong. I also had a Benchmade Griptillian that was pretty nice, but it bored me, and I don't like what Benchmade has been doing lately.

What I don't like -
Fat knives
Weird shaped blades
Crazy textures or designs
Lock backs

After all this, what should I be looking at. I love the look of the Chris Reeve plain folders, but they are a little out of the price range, for now.

I suggest a spyderco manix 2 lw in s110v. Great knife and you can buy another one if you break it.

Kershaw's Big Brother is ZT. Check out the ZT0770 in aluminum handles - I think it would work well for you:

Elmax steel, and only $145 at Knifeworks.

Can you get those ZTs with serrations? I looked on their site and only the ones that I think are ugly have serrations...

No, the 0770 isnt offered with serrations. You can however get a Manix 2 with combo edge. It is a wide knife in pocket but the handle is pretty slim.

Depending on what your range is, take a look at my sig.

If s110v doesn't sound like an option you would like to have, look at zt or Emerson. Visitor message inc for location that has zts on sale.

Kershaw Blur fits all your wants: it's slim, got a big blade and, if you pick up an ELMAX one, a strong blade, looks pretty plain and has serrations if you want them on either a recurve or tanto blade. It's not fat, it's got normal-shaped blades, no crazy design, and it's a liner lock. The bonus is that it's way under your price range, so you can get more than one.
