I'm looking to get another Case knife; one with a bigger handle and I'm looking at these 3:

I may end up getting all of them because I like them all, but I'd like to get other people's opinions on them. I don't see a lot of bright colored knives on the forums, but I like vivid colors. I also like more traditional colors like the sod buster jr. The sod buster jr. and the barlow have Tru-Sharp, and the Sway Back has CV. But I don't want to base my decision on that because that doesn't matter too much to me. Anyways, what do you think of these models / colors? Bonus points if you have one of these and are willing to post pics.

Ribbons, you can't go wrong with any Case knife.

I have both the barlow and sod buster jr. They are great knives.

Maybe you're right just buy all 3 and be done with it. You know deep down you'll probably end up with them anyways. And then in a month you'll find 3 more and the month after that 3 more and it keeps going.

I counted knives in my kitchen area once and it was near 100. A lot of them Case. Great knives for the money

And make sure you get a peanut. They are unbelievably useful and just disappear in your pocket. I use mine for everything.

Sorry I'm not smart enough to post pictures.

I have to ask....how big is the one you're upsizing from?
The SWJ and Barlow are by no means large knives.
The Soddy is a good size and certainly the biggest of your chosen 3.
There are 2 sizes of Soddys dont forget.
The Zulu Spear might be good as well...here we see it next to the SBJ...you should look for the dimensions of the knives on dealer sites or Case.com...etc.

The one I have now is peanut sized, and I have a stockman on the way. I don’t want it to be too big. My state has a 3” limit on pocket knife blades, and these 3 seem to be the biggest handles in that size.

My next Case thread, i have hit a hurdle with my next case. That discussion we had over 12 months ago about Case pulling the pin on selling to overseas purchasers has come home to roost with me. My dealer has sent me an email, they won't sell to us poor down under residents any more. How are you getting on with the ban? There are some Case on my radar and i'm going to have to get creative. ;)o_O

You've made some great choices. I think you'll be delighted with any or all of those.

It can be difficult to determine blade length when shopping online for a slip joint as most dealers only list the closed length and not the blade length. Fortunately, you have a very wide selection because the handle can be pretty large before any of the blades reach 3 inches.

For example, the Tribal Lock that meako posted in post #3 above has a closed length of 4 1/16 inches which is pretty large. According to a dealer who is kind enough to list blade length, the blade is only 3 1/16 inches long.

With that in mind, you should be safe choosing any slip joint, be it Case or any other brand, that measures up to 3 3/4 inches closed. Maybe even 3 7/8 in some cases.

Colors good. Not too ... garish ... like some of their offerings of the last couple years. (IMHO)
Swayback for the Wharncliffe blade.
The Barlow is O.K., however, I prefer two blades in mine.
I'll second or third, or whatever it is, that the sodbuster Jr. is a fine knife and choice.
Why, there are some here who only carry one knife at a time, and its a Sodbuster Jr.!!!

(how they can stand to have just one ... way beyond my level of comprehension.)

Which stockman did you decide on? :)

Three great choices, there... I like most of the colors Case uses on their bone... one or two, maybe not so much... It would be difficult to go wrong with any of the three.
Of those three, I'd choose the swayback, but I'd recommend trying to find a swayback jack... the two blade model. It is slightly thicker and is more comfortable in my hand, plus you have a pen blade go go along with the wharncliffe. Best of both worlds!

Here are my three (1 of 3000) limited editions. The fit and finish on these is just wonderful...

Sorry mate I was rogering the op's comment.
Cudgee I can think of words for Cases exclusion policy but tbh they would get me barred from the porch and drummed out of The Royal Porchenberg Regiment....
Its a lame duck of an idea and whomsoever implemented it should man up and come forward for chastisement

OP probably will get all three.
I almost bought that Barlow, but I have Barlows I don't carry as it is; do I need to have one from Case so I won't carry it? (I like them in principle, but they're small yet bulky and heavy for their size. I have one one-blader that is less bulky, but it's still short.)
I don't get the wharnecliffe as a main blade; I'll have to learn when the BF viper arrives.
The SB Jr has a 2& 7/8" blade. The tight arc from the edge to the back looks funny but works fine, in my experience. Mine are delrin, but I like the look of the bone. It looks slimmer than the delrin, too.

Swayback is a very small knife but one of the best as it's not toy-like unlike a lot of GEC's small knives :D

Blade length 3 " is a bigger knife , consider closed length of frame.

My criticism of CASE rests on 2 points only: They don't make a good Spear single blade, Canoes are a pattern I'm not interested in at all. Yes and this DEATH WISH ban on sellers providing International service, I'm not prepared to go to all the effort and trouble of getting somebody to forward me their knives, it also suggests they don't want to take International warranty responsibilities either, it's insulting :poop:

Just fyi, On Tuesday there will be a 40% off sale on some Case knives at one of their Missouri dealers somewhere in the Hills.
