"Case XX Trapper knife, Item #161, Model #3254CV, 4 1/8" closed length, yellow delrin handle, nickel silver shield and bolsters, brass pins and liners, two chrome vanadium (carbon steel) blades. This knife is not stainless. It will turn black and rust just like grandpas knife did. But it will be easy to sharpen and stay sharp longer."

I wasn't going to buy it soon, but I picked up an unexpected OT yesterday and that will give me more than enough to afford it.

that, as my grandmother used to say, is a honey. I had one of those a few years back and it was an outstanding knife. took a good edge and held it pretty well. It will rust but all you gotta do is clean it up. Looking back on some of the knives I traded I should really be committed. It's not so much that they were that valuable it's that they worked so good. enjoy it, ahgar

I recently had a case bone scaled trapper with the stainless steel. Nice knife but it just didn't seem to perform as well as ol' yeller. Of course it looked a lot better but just didn't seem to hold an edge as well. I'm not bashing stainless steel but this was my experience in this case. ahgar

actually case stainless steel is of the devil. imo

that is a nice looking knife. yellow delrin is one of my favorite handle materials.

You guys do know that you can have Case CV blades without having to deal with rust. All it takes is a little care and maintenance.

Rob is absolutely right.
I have a bud who collects Case's exclusively, except for a Don Hanson I gave him as a Christmas gift, and he hasn't had any problems with CV.

Doug :)
