So you guys know how I'm all about having one off stuff. Well... I own a 5.5" Maxx and AXD with another 5.5" AXD being built at the moment. I wanted a new "left pocket" knife. For the last 4 months, it's been a Dalton kerambit and that has got me stuck on the hawkbill. To this date, I have never seen a DDR hawkbill so my desire for one offs caused a stirring in my loins. Darrel tried to talk me into the AXD handle for this but I like the versatility of the coffin profile on the Maxx line and how it will lend itself to many grips.

Just talked to Darrel. It can be done!

I love that the plan is sketched out on a paper bag. Jealous of your DDR's, not to mention all the other cool stuff you've posted over the years. Have you ever done pictures of your whole collection? With the kitty, of course.

It looks pretty bad on the paper bag. Can't wait to see it built. I can't say I've ever seen a hawk bill with a chisel grind, that's just pure genius.

Now, I know that is not your whole collection. :)

Beautiful sketch. I am sure the DDR will be amazing when done. Congrats on everything. Stay strong.

Yay! Invoice arrived today. Deposit paid. Now the wait begins. Fortunately my AA Easy Does It AXD is being built at the moment.

I'm developing quite a collection. Part of the fun of buying custom knives is the relationship between the buyer and the maker. The custom stuff I own are all made by stand up guys and I will continue to buy from them.
