I might go for the Spyder' Cricket, after the Kershaw S30V Spec Bump, and S30V Leek (new models of each for '06 that is).

Then, I probably need to invest in a Sharpmaker and see what all the hype is about. Can anyone give me a review link to that? What is all the hype about?

After that.. well, it's some cool flashlights for me... of which, any of you that know about LED lights/torches, please jump over to the Gadgets and Gear section, and educate me on my three topics of discussion please.

You've been great guys... and remember to post pics of your collection on my post. Keep'em coming, they're looking great.

Once you start getting a couple of blades and use them, they will lose some of there sharpness. The sharpmaker is an easy way of keeping your tools in top working order. Sure it's about $50 delivered, but it will keep a razor edge on your blades, (once you watch the DVD and practice a little) with and with out serrations. There are alot of threads here comparing the systems; lansky, razor edge, free hand, edge pro (my favorite) etc. But a large percentage here will agree it has the most bang for the buck. :D

The Sharpmaker is an easy to learn system that will keep your knives as sharp as you want them.
It is worth the money.

As long as you touch up your knives from time to time, it is easy to keep them sharp with the Sharpmaker. Reprofiling is a different story.

I prefer my Lansky. I don't need to use anything else to keep 'em sharp :D

I used my Lansky today to put an edge on a very dull knife. It works, but is a pain in the @$$. Also, the clamp sucks.

that's for damn sure. I've gotten good at freehand by getting pissed at the clamp, chucking it and using the hones alone.

I went a long time before buying a Sharpmaker, but now that I have it I am more than happy to have it. Get one and you'll be veerrrrry happy :)
