So, I decided while I am waiting on finding the right Khukuri I would show you the only one I have. Don't get excited, it's not traditional by a long shot but, it is what got my interest up.

So, as I said in an earlier post I snagged one from another place to try out while I waited for the one I want from HI. Well, it came today. The specs on it are:

Blade: 10 inch
Weight: 1000 grams

The knife feels smaller and lighter than I thought it would. Still, it is a sturdy knife. I don't have any scales handy but I can't imagine the weight of the knife is 1000 grams. I took it out to the yard and chopped some limbs off of a tree and chopped up some dead wood I had stacked up.

It was easy to find the sweet spot on the knife. I chopped around for a bit and when I hit the right spot on the blade you could really tell the difference. The only issue that I have is I told the guy at the place that I would like the maker to put his initials at the base of the tang near the handle.

What I got was this awful American block font running down the blade that I just can't quit looking at and really hating haha. Guess I should have been a lot more specific. I suppose I was expecting something like what I have seen on HI blades. Boy was I wrong. Anyway, now I am really itching for a HI Khuk. I'll post some pics of my little camp blade.
