I have had this Buck forever.....probably 14y years. I have used it to the point where I had to re-shape the blade, and the back-lock has almost failed. I just found it today, and wanted to know if Buck will still honor it? Thank you.

I sent Joe Houser a link to this thread.

He's the best one to answer your question.

If you don't hear from him you can always send him a note yourself or call Buck direct on the phone.

All info on the link at the top of the main page here.......Joe is listed at the bottom of the main page in red....just click on his name to send him a message.

Good luck.

I have a 444, too......but mine is still in excellent shape.

:D

Thanks man, I appreciate it.

You're welcome.

I could speculate about the answer (they usually take good care of people) but better you get the official answer.

:)

It looks like you have got your moneys worth with this knife. Why not support Buck Knives and buy a new Buck Knife? It would help the economy. JMO

I buy a lot of USA Buck's.....So I'm good. :D

The knife has sentimental value, almost. I'd rather see it cleaned up, so I can use it for another fifteen plus years.

I would absolutely send it in. The fact that you mention the lock makes me want to evaluate that anyways. There is a fairly decent possibility that we wont be able to repair your knife so a replacement would be in order. We can usually install a new blade but would not want to do that if the lock has an issue.
If you do send it in, I recommend a good sturdy box with my name on it. It would not hurt to have a copy of this thread and or a note. We will take it from there.
Hope this helps.
