So my Dad is turning 70 and retiring all in this month. He has worked hard his entire life, raised my brother and I right, and has very much earned this next chapter in his life. Known as Pop Pop by his Grand Children, the one place he is happiest, when not with his family, is when he is on the Chesapeake Bay catching and eating clams. He can open a clam faster than anyone you have ever seen. No one can master his technique. Well a few years ago he lost the knife he had used for 25 plus years opening clams. I figure the Fiddleback Forge Duke was the best knife to be the official replacement. It is actually not far off in size to the knife he used to use.

Just had to share!

In honor of your grandfather I would like to petition Fiddleback Forge to rename this model Pop Pop's Clambuster!

Wish him wel, and. Want to know how the first claims go after he shucks them with his new toy. The meal.

As an adult child of an aging parent, I find that few things in my life are as gratifying as giving my parents gifts that they really like.

Good on you for being a great son and happy 70th to your dad.

Very cool. With all the choices you have it says a lot that you would pick a Fiddleback to give to your father.

 Wonderful gift Whitty! I'm sure you're dad will enjoy it immensely. Wish him a happy birthday and retirement!

Nice, Whitty!

Funny - Pop Pop is what my grandchildren call me - my oldest granddaughter started that around 13 years ago....

I am sure your Pop will be proud of that knife.

best
