Hello !

I try to determine the age of my SAK, and the soldier knife generation it belongs. You maybe can help me ?

It is an old Wenger knife. It comes from Swiss and there are military proof marks on the handle. Unfortunately, there is no year indication on the main blade… I also don't know if the handle is in wood or plastic (the pattern is very strange for me).

Hi,

as far as I know it`s a model 08, these were used between 1908 and 1951 when a new smaller version came out.
It has fiber handles and the stamp (2 crosses in circles) means that the knives was repaired once (It`s a repair-stamp, at least that`s what experts say. There is no real proof for that).
Maybe it got a new blade or new handles or both. Maybe that`s why the blade looks new.

according to the stamps its made more toward or after 1951, as an civillian model. its in an verry nice condition for that age.

That's a beaut! Other than the maker similar to my '44 P marked Victorinox. I have to say that this style of the Soldier is my favorite! Well, I've never handled an 1890's model and I do like it's larger proportions but not it's non-stainless tools.

ps. by the wengerinox stamp on the bladetang, that is an swiss crossbow and not an umbrella or else.

the swiss crossbow stands for ouer swiss high quality standarts.

Thank you very much for your messages. It is very difficult to obtain information concerning the old Swiss soldier knives. I'm happy to learn mine dates toward 1950…

Regards ;)
