Since there are rumors of new BK10s on the way, I thought I'd share my old beast. This knife has been on innumerable bush trips and adventures, and nothing else seems to really be able to take its place. It has chopped, sliced, shaved, carved, pierced, bonked, scraped, etc, etc.

Three, that is a well loved BK10. Hows that sheath held up?

Not to worry, you'll have your BH# before the new ones come out. :D

Looks sweet man, really. I would love to own a BK10.

Yep it's worn out, too bad.:( Since I feel so bad for you, I'll upgrade you to gold and send you a necker for it.;)

so whats the difference in the bk 10 vs the 2
arent they approximate same size and whatnot?

oh, how can you ask that? *cries* read the database! specs! there are even pictures, esp in the BK10 thread, comparing all sizes bk2, bk10, and "bk12" perseverance... :)

sorry bladite
didnt mean to make ya cry

i was just curious, i know the 10 is a 1/2 longer, its just they so close in size they seem to fulfill the same function
unless i am missing something...

sure, call out mr. obvious here.... ;)

The sheath is still going strong, though I did have to reglue the liner a couple of years ago. I fold the back of the sheath over like that to get a higher ride when it's on a belt or baldric, and to give me a clear grip on the pommel when drawing it. I also have tied back the bottom tab of the sheath, giving me a pretty compact package.

The difference between the BK10 and BK2 is dramatic in my opinion. There's just something about the point profile on the 10 that is magic, plus the thumb ramp, plus the thinner blade, plus I really like the sheath for some reason ( I realize I'm nearly alone on this). Even with the thinner blade, this knife outchops my GB mini, while still being able to shave...
