Very nice save! Cleaned up enough to be nice and functional, but not enough to lose the vintage condition. Good book too (had a copy from Outdoor Life for years). OH

I agree with Jeff and Ed, lots of character, lots of blade life left, wonderful patina, I assume that old carbon gets wicked sharp, GREAT covers and just screams to be used...Thanks for posting it.

Until I luck across an old gem in my searches I'll live vicariously through fellas like you. Nice pick up.

Ok, back to Deltaboys Western Stockman;) I love finding an old knife and putting it back into use:thumbup:

Thanks Dad got me that Outdoor Lore Book when I was 7 years old. It is a 1969 reprint. Yes as I started cleaning it with Simple Green then a 3-1oil bath over night. Lightly cleaned the blades with 220 sand paper , then Q tips and JB BORE CLEANER then a cleaning with #9 GUN cleaner and it was good and clean and ready to sharpen. I sharpened it with some crock sticks and some 400 wet dry sand paper and it pops the hair off your arm.

Little lube and touch u the edge and you have a vintage user, very good find.

Love the look of the scales and bolsters. That knife has a great patina as well and will be a wonderful user.

Thanks it is my stockman of the week. So I will carry it all week then I,wipe it down and back to the Tackle box I keep them in.

Good looking pair. For some reason I never seem to find that particular brand in my searches.
