Wow.

Just wow.

Sal, you and Eric really knocked it out of the park on this one. I hope I get to buy y'all a beer someday and say thanks in person.

This is my first Spyderco, my first "super" steel blade (fanciest to date was 154CM), and my first knife that cost more than a C-note.

And boy is it quick. Faster than any assisted opener I've handled, and faster than quite a few automatics. It flicks open like it's been waiting to come out and be useful.

It's actually really handy in the kitchen, and I used to be a prep cook so I'm pretty picky. The generous belly makes it easy to keep the choil from bonking into the cutting board and makes it a great slicer, the light weight of the handle makes it nimble, and the needle point makes it an excellent parer.

Best lighting in the house at this time of day, ironically:

Hm. After some more opening and closing, the action has gotten a bit gritty. The pivot bearing is fine (if I hold the lock bar in it's loosey-goosey), it's the compression leaf grinding against the tang of the blade. Is this a normal breaking-in symptom? It was smooth as butter when I pulled it out of the box. Haven't done anything but cut an avocado and open and close it.

Dried avocado is a suboptimal lubricant. Try cleaning with hot soapy water then a touch of oil?

Mine got gritty after the first day or two then has been smooth since. May be a break in thing.

I think it got avocado goop in it. Rinsed out the pivot and lock real well and it's glassy again.

This knife just disappears in your pocket, too. Thin and super duper light for its size.

*chortle*

The PM2 ergonomics and size efficiency make it superb for comfortable carry as well as easy completion of most tasks.

It does what you ask, then tucks away to abide 'til called upon again; no muss, no fuss.

It is so far a knife that doesn't seem to have any quirks. It's the Lexus rather than the Ferrari or the Mercedes.

It has a personality, but that personality is quiet and no-nonsense. Like the old guy with the handlebar mustache who doesn't wear it for show, and never brags because his actions brag for him.

OK, You have just received a knife you might want to put in the league of a Ferrari or Mercedes? sorry you are looking in the wrong direction, We don't hold our pinky in the air when we drink! The PM2 has the comfort and refinement of the latest Cadillac and the proven dependability of an old Dodge slant 6. American and not afraid to throw the finger to anyone who says other wise! ENJOY.

Get a Torx wrench set for the tension screw and some oil (any oil) set it to your comfort. everyone varies to there version of a perfect tension, find yours. you cant hurt this knife without a hammer and a abundance of stupidity , good luck you'll love this knife if you understand, if not buy something else to get a better idea.

I would respectfully suggest what you meant was, your first Para 2 has arrived. :)
S110V variant is coming soon, and a brace of M4 exclusives. And the 3" Para 3.
Start saving my friend.

I think you're probably correct. When I bought my Mercedes E300D, the previous owner told me to enjoy my firstMercedes, and he was right. :P

Oh man, y'all, I just really used the choil for the first time and it makes SO MUCH SENSE. Cutting tarp while pulling it off a pallet, mostly slashing at the bunched up part. Normally a blade would catch at the ricasso doing this, but I moved my index finger into the choil and suddenly knew exactly where the blade started and could slash away without hang ups. Just brilliant.
