My parents are going to Kathmandu Nepal, can they visit BirGorka?

Okay, so I don't know much about Nepal, except that BirGorka is there.
Can my parents visit, if they're going to Kathmandu?
Is BirGorka in or Near the capital?
I'd love to send my parents there to get a real experience of what life is like in Nepal.
All help appreciated. thanks.

Is it safe, how are foreigners treated?,

WM, I was thinking of taking my next vacation there and picking up some UBBBs at cost!
Id be very interested to hear about what you learn....
 
Well, I always wanted to visit Tibet and Nepal and India.
Of course, it might be a tad unsafe right now....

Here's a link to the US State Department's travel warnings page. Nepal is one of about 25 countries on the list. There is a link to more info on Nepal, and it doesn't sound too good right now. It does have info about how to contact State Department / Embassies while in Tibet, and recommends registering. Sounds like a particularly tough time for the Nepalese.

BirGorkha is in that Kathmandu Valley but outside Kathmandu. There may be a couple of police checkpoints between the shop and the city. Pala discourages visitors because they need a guide to get them to the shop and Pala is too busy to take a day off to play guide. If you email me I can give you Pala's phone number and your party can check in with him when they hit Kdu. Might have com problems as Pala speaks very limited English. But we can try and see what happens.
