It really got me thinking that I only have 2 bucks this one and a 701 that my mom gave me a few years ago. Im thinking of adding a Special and Folding omni to my collection. The special I know is a good one to have, Anybody have any experiance with the Buck Omni folders. Thanks for looking.

That is the 2006 holiday knife sold at Walmart for $30 or less and that is a factory signature...not a sharpie !!

Wonder if mineral spirits would take off the sharpie marking?

Great find!

Nice find! If that is a Sharpy, 99% Isopropyl Alcohol will take it off without damage to the finish.

I wasn't talking about the signature,but the scales look like someone colored them with a sharpie.

Looks like the normal grain of the wood to me. But, like the others said, it will come off if it is a sharpie or other marker.

So being a little nutso this morning from lack of coffee, I just took a sharpie and painted the side of an Idaho 110 laying here on the desk. Let it dry, and took some Lysol on a paper towel to it and it came right off.

Yeah, Lysol. I keep a can of it sitting next to me on the other desk and use it all the time for general cleaning on knives and such. In addition it will remove ink off a lot of things, including cloth. Only try that on something that is already ruined tho.....

The flavor doesn't seem to matter, this can is Crisp Linen.

Nice deal, I bought one without a sheath in 1977 from a buddy of mine for $5. I thought that was a good deal at the time, but with inflation figured in, you got a much better deal. He bought 5 joints of columbian with the money he got for the knife, so that gives you an idea of the buying power of $5 in those days.

Thanks for all the replys, I tryed the Lysol and rudding acohol and the black would'nt come off the scales so I am gouing to say that it is normal. I cleaned it up and shined it up. I did'nt get the tin that goes with it so I think I will make a sheath and put it in my EDC rotation. I think my Buck addiction has started, Already thinking about my next one.

great deal and good negotiating...but that is more then half the fun for you guys I know...

That looks like the normal wood color to me

Me thinks you need a lot more Bucks so you will know what the scales look like, which by the way, RARELY will you ever get two handles that will look edzachery alike. :D

Welcome to our addiction. :rolleyes::eek::thumbup:

That is Obeechee and it has that dark wood in it. I think CJ just told you that nicely.

So you can quit scrubbing on it and start using that bad boy.
