Although I own many traditional knives I tend to only carry a few. Now some out there may find this strange but I am first and foremost a collector.
I keep around a dozen knives, traditional and non-traditional for edc use but I have my favourites and I carry those 90% of the time.
My two edc traditional's which have been all over the world with me are my Case yellow Delrin Peanut and my trusty Schrade 825 Stockman. Both stainless.
Now it is no secret that I much prefer stainless to carbon blades. Indeed there are many modern knives which are made only in carbon which I refuse to buy. So when I saw this little gem come up for sale I knew I had found my new ideal edc traditional.
The Schrade 855………….
This little stockman is barely bigger than a peanut but it is just so much more elegant and useful. You get three blades for the same size knife and the beautiful serpentine shape and wonderful jigging is so classic. This knife is legal everywhere I travel and would not raise anybody's eyebrows.
So I shall have it with me on all my future travels.
The 855 in-between the Peanut and the 825
